Getting to Tatuamunha
Tatuamunha is in the municipality of Porto de Pedras, on the northern coast of Alagoas, along the Ecological Route of Milagres. Almost everyone flies into Maceió or Recife and completes the journey by road.
The routes to Tatuamunha
There are three possible routes, two of them from Recife. They all end on the same road by the sea.
From Maceió (MCZ)

≈ 180 km · 3 hAlong the BR-101 to Porto Calvo, then on to the coast, entering the Route at São Miguel dos Milagres.

≈ 160 km · 3 hAlong the coast, through Maragogi and Japaratinga, crossing the river by ferry to Porto de Pedras.

The ferry crossing time is hard to predict: at certain times of year the wait can be long.
Private transfer or rental car?
Ideal for those arriving at night, with children, lots of luggage, or who would rather not drive in an unfamiliar area. We arrange the transfer from the airport — just ask when you book.
More freedom to visit the beaches and villages of the Route during your stay. Pick-up at the airport itself, and parking at the house.
On arrival day
Check-in from 2pm. If you arrive earlier, please check reception options with us in advance.
We recommend planning your arrival in daylight: the final stretch runs through small villages and the scenery is part of the trip. If your flight is delayed, just let us know — the team will wait and guide you in.
Download the area map before leaving the airport. In Google Maps, under Offline maps. That way the route works even without mobile data.

Not to stay: the beach and the river are a few steps from the house. Yes to explore: the other villages on the Route are a few kilometres away, and then a car or an outing arranged with the team is worth it.

Just let us know on WhatsApp. The team will rearrange the welcome and, if you booked a transfer, the driver tracks your flight.
Check-in is from 2pm. If you arrive earlier, ask us in advance: there is almost always a way to drop your bags and head straight to the beach.
Leaving Maceió by mid-afternoon gets you here in daylight, in time for late afternoon by the river. From Recife, it is better to leave a little earlier.
